Mark W., Shop Supervisor
Gearstar's Shop Supervisor, Mark (pictured with Gearstar's mascot, Mouser), has over 23 years of experience with building transmissions. He got his start on the old cast irons, slim jims and hydromatics, and met Zack at Tristar in 1986. Today Mark is known for his work on Level 4 Chrysler and Ford transmissions.

Patrick W.
With over 30 years of experience, Patrick is Gearstar's resident transmission genius. Name a transmission and he can tell you the gear ratio from memory. Patrick attended Vale Tech in 1976. After excelling both in school and a number of smaller transmission shops, he went to work for Tristar in 1985 where he met Zack. Patrick is certified as an ASE Master Transmission Tech and is GM Certified.
"I get to build with the best parts, take all the time in the world and know that it's going into a really cool car. What more could I ask for?"

Dave
Dave being the youngest employee at Gearstar is a "major" assets to the team, bringing with him 18 years experience in fabrication and sheet metal work. He has been with Gearstar since 2004 and was hand picked directly from Montrose Chevrolet. Dave is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is an A.S.E. Certified Master Automobile and Transmission Technician , and is GM Certified. His ability with GM transmissions has contributed greatly to Gearstars success. Dave's expertise in automotive fabrication has been extremely valuable to Gearstar. As the final addition to the Gearstar team, he has proven himself to be invaluable.

Steven W.
Steven was referred to Gearstar by his schoolmate Thomas who he attended the GM Technical College with. Zack chose to Steven for Gearstar due to his expert work installation and diagnostics. He has been with Gearstar for the past 5 years.

Doug K.
Starting at Tristar in 1982, Doug's transmission expertise with GM, Chrysler and Ford was quickly recognized by Zack who recruited him for Gearstar. Doug is in charge of Gearstar's tear down area and is an expert torque convertor manufacturer. He attended Tri C Technical School, is a trained Dyno Technician and is ASE Certified.

Thomas F.
After attending both the University of Akron and GM Technical College, Thomas began work at Tristar in 1992. Zack chose to bring Thomas over to Gearstar for his great mathematical and mechanical knowledge, as well as his superb work ethic. He specializes in GM transmissions and is ASE Certified.
